we haven't purchased the Imail server but are in the process. as of now our mail is stored on pac bells servers. how do we set up and try a internal test?
set a windows box ( I used W2k professional, not the server).
give the w2k box a static ip address on your internal network.
install the imail demo on it.
install eudora or whatever client you choose on a client box,
or set up accounts on existing clients pointing to this internal address.
set up the accounts you want to test with on the imail server.
test away....
I am using Imail for about 60 users- it works fine on a
PII 450/MHZ 384 MB ram.
good luck!
Oaklanghes,
just install it on a NT based platform.
You will see that it will install itself with no issues.
Imamil will pick up the right IP info. If you have more that one IP, you will be asked the one to use.
In rare cases, the installation could not be set correctly, in that case, you go to
and click the knowledge base link. Make a search for Installation or for changing ip address. You will find all you need to fix it!
Trust me, is so easy!
Alberto
PS
make sure all the DNS are set correctly
This gives you a nice web interface. I check my mail anywhere in the world this way without setting up Eudora or anything. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson
