I am very new to Linux and i need some help in trying to set up a small office of about 10 XP Pro machines to a Linux file server using SAMBA.

Currently the system is set up with XP Home to the Linux file server and it uses Samba, but we are upgrading to XP pro. Each XP machine has two accounts, user and Admin and both currently log on to their machines locally.

We are upgrading to XP pro for password control as well as other options similar to that. What i'd like to have happen is that the users basically log onto Samba instead of logging on locally. The way the system currently works is that the passwords and usernames must match. If a user went in a changed their password, the password change would not be reflected in Samba, until an admin went in and changed it. Again, i'd like to have so that when in XP pro, when the user is prompted to changed their password, the changes are also made directly in Samba.

I've been told this will work if you set Samba up as a PDC. I have read two how-to articles on how to set Samba up as a PDC. What else do i need to do in order for this to work the way i need it to work.

thanks in advance for the help
