I have an Epson C84 printer installed. I have now acquired an Epson C86.

Whe I try to add it as a printer I get the following message
" One of the files [EPIFLN61.DLL]required for this printer is in use by another programme. Quit all programs, and then click Retry. To quit the Add Printer wizard, click Cancel."

terrydoughty,
Are you planning on using both printers or just the new c86?

Yes I am planning to use both printers (I have set up 2 epson printers previously with no problem)

Turn off the C84 before powering on the pc. You may also have to temporarily uncheck Epson stuff in the startup so it isn't running. Then try the install again.

Excuse my ignaorance but how do I uncheck in the start up?

Click start, run, type in msconfig and then click on the startup tab and uncheck Epson stuff. Also look at the win.ini tab might habe an entry in the Load= or Run=

I forgot to mention, if you are running WinXP, while in msconfig, have a look under services tab and uncheck any Epson services as well.

I have managed to install the printer BUT I cannot get it to communicate with my PC!

I am using USB port.

Any suggestions??
