This thread is related to both SQL Server 2005 and Windows 7. I just start using Windows 7 and is trying on the "XP Mode," which is a Virtual PC. I want to set up an ODBC connection to a database on a SQL Server 2005 (developer edition) running on the host Windows 7 system. I got two problems.

First, on the ODBC setup screen, the host computer name is not in the "server" dropdown list.

Second, how do I add the default XP mode login "xpmuser" in the SQL Server?

Thanks in advance.
