Hello,

I want to write a Javaapplication which uses an JDBC-Connection via an ODBC-Bridge. This application should be running on Unix/Linux, too.
In Windows I know how I must setup a connection to the database. But how does it work in unix?

Yeah but ODBC is native to Windows - it is Microsofts database connectivity protocol - so you couldn't use it in Linux or UNIX ...

Well, and how do I connect to a database in Linux (for example MySQL)?

hello

have you looked at JDBC yet? i would recommend going to the official java website and asking there

my understanding is a little bit hazy, but as far as i can tell JDBC is very similar to ODBC, and is dead useful...

hope that helps [pipe]
