set up channel error

Need help with an error for a test env that I am working on.
1. I have installed Solaris 10 with Sybase 12.5.4
2. I inserted aliases to DBS master, table sysservers.
3. Recycled sybase.
4. Ran DBSctgsrv...sp_who (this is to test the alias that I added)
5. I get the following error.

Server Message: Number 7211, Severity 18
Server 'TestEnv', Line 1:
Can't open a connection to site 'TestEnv' because 'set up channel' message was not acknowledged.

Hi Rocco,
As I recall, this might be caused because the physical connection dies before it gets a response.
try to set the automatic timeouts to False.
example :

sp_serveroption your_server_name "timeouts", false
go
