I know the purpose of Sharepoint Services 2.0 is to let users manipulate the website and share documents; BUT I need to be able to "secure" some of the folders in the document library that will be created. I've done this in Sharepoint Services 1.0, the document library folders were listed on the server and I was able to add NT security to the folders, and users were challenged for a username and password to gain entry. Now Sharepoint 2.0 keeps everything in the database, how do I set security to individual folders now??? Any ideas???

Thanks

Forgot to mention, Im using Windows Authentication in IIS6, so all groups who want to browse the website must be a member of the Administrators group of the website to browse the site without having to log in.

Becoming a part of the Administrators group on the Web Server over rides the Sharepoint security for document libraries and lists. Any ideas how to get past this???

Thanks

umpf? this is incorrect. I suggest you get back on the documentation as this statement above kills all security.

to answer this question: how do I set security to individual folders .

you can create new document libraries and add appropriate security to "secure" them.

hope this points in the good direction, ask questions as they pop up ;-)
