I have two systems beheind a linksys 4 port wirreless router. when the systems power up, the router assigns teh local ip's to the systems..usually in order...

system1 = xxx.xxx.x.101
system2 = xxx.xxx.x.102

however, at restart, or router reboot, system2 may get the fist ip. I want to make it so that, say, xxx.xxx.x.101 is ALWAYS with system1 for example

Is there a way to do this??

otherwise, i have to keep changing the settings in the forwarding tab to reflect the changes in internal ip's, to keep my http port open !!

Your DHCP range by default will be 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.149.

That means that the address space above 192.168.1.1 and less than 192.168.1.100 is free for your your use as static IPs. (As is the address space above 192.168.1.49)

Use the Windows GUI for you adapter, TCP/IP properties, and uncheck "obtain an IP address automaticly." You can then put in a static IP value, Subnet 255.255.255.0, and a Gateway IP of 192.168.1.1

Choose appropriate values. I use 192.168.1.10-48 for static local devices, and higher values for VPN connections. Just be sure the value you assign is outside of the DHCP server scope of the router.
