Set relocation

I am relatively new to the Panasonic line, so please excuse the newbie question(s). Is there a setting in the NCP or NS series systems that will allow you to move a digital handset and have the extension and all it's settings move with the phone, like the Norstar set relocation? Most of the systems we are replacing with Panasonic are punched down on 110 or 66 blocks. Thanks in advance.

you can use hot desk feature that will allow you to go to a phone and make it a different extension. this is fine for short time or one off if stuck, but it makes it harder to keep record of what port is what extensions.

I Would swap extension number and redo the buttons, any other setting will be set to the extension number and will remain working to that extension number.
exceptions that will need to be redone are the voicemail if you are using SVM only. this is attached to the port so you will have to redo message and the buttons on the phone are set to the port. you can copy those over.

if you are using the tvm or the NS builtin tvm you will not have to redo that mailbox.

other thing to look at is ant forwards set or intercepts are set to the port too

Thanks, once again, obtsystems. I used the walking extension feature and found it actually works really well. As long as you save it when you're done moving phones around. Otherwise, if the system reboots the phones will revert to their original extension. A lot of our customers are old Norstar users and they were really "spoiled" by the set relocation feature so they are liking the sound of this walking extension.
