Set relocation went haywire

Yesterday one of offices wanted to have some users swap desk. I enabled Set relocation, had them move the phones (T7316E's) and then I turned Set relocation off. The extensions that swapped were 501 and 502.

They call me back a little while later and tell me that when you call 502 it rings on 516 and 516 rings on 502.

Weird considering nothing was done to 516, but I turn on Set relocation again and ask them to swap those phones, thinking that would correct it. Nope, still does the same thing.

Any ideas what to do here. We did restart the BCM50 last night just to see if that would help but still the same.

If 516 not involved I would have said they swapped 2 sets too fast at one of the jacks, always wait a minute.
Maybe they "think".

Have them do button inquiry to see what the actual DN's.

Call in and watch Monitor as well.

Make sure Answer DN's are not in play.

Otherwise sounds bugged,

I agree with Curly's comments. Turn relocation off again and reboot the phone system. Wait a few minutes after it has completed and go to the two phones and key in feature * 0 and then press the intercom key to find out what extension they have. Also check that any call forwarding is turned off in case they have set one up to each other.

Once you have done that, enable set relocation to move one phone at a time and wait until it's booted up and check that it's the right number. Plug in the other phone and repeat the test before turning off set relocation.

The rule about Set Relocation is "First out, first in", so if you unplug Set A FIRST and THEN unplug Set B, you MUST plug Set A BACK in FIRST BEFORE you plug Set B back in.

Otherwise, the system will do a "template rebuild" and assign another extension number. Then the "fun" begins about getting it straightened out!
