set registry key permission

Hi,

Is there a way to programmatically set the registry key permission?
 
As far as I know there is no way to do this. Windows manages this based on user permissions , but only from win nt/2000 onwards.

However you could set up a program that continuosly looks for any instances of the registry editor and if it finds any closes it.

If your machines are on Win NT, Win 2000 or Win XP then I would suggest using the existing settings.
