Set range of values

I am querying hospital ward occupancy data and wish to graph the changes hourly over the period 00.00.00 to 23.59.59. I can extract the changes and create a running total to give me hourly values where there is a change. However I wish to be able to plot 24 values on my chart for consistency.

How can I force the chart to display 24 values regardless of how many are calculated.

I could use an outer join on a small table but would prefer to do it dynamically because this is off an odbc data sourcethat I cannot create tables in.

Crystal won't fabricate values, as with SQL, you get what you have on a grouping.

Creating a period table of all hours and linking to it makes sense.
