Hi,

a user of ours wants to change his display settings of his pc. But he also wants to view his excelfiles at the maximum size, and when he changes the magnification to 125% it works.

But everytime he opens a new excelsheet, the magnification is reset to 100% again.
Is there a way to set the magnification default to 125% instead of 100?

Thanks

To have a particular setting in place for new workbooks create a template called Book.xlt ( choose file type of template when you are saving, and the file extension will automatically be set as .xlt ), and save this in the XLStart folder. In your case set the zoom factor as 125% before saving.

Every time you have a new workbook, the book will be based on your saved template.

To have the same thing happen when a new sheet is added to a book, save a single sheet workbook as Sheet.xlt in the XLStart folder.

Cheers, Glenn.

But is there no way to make Excel open all existing files at 125%, besides opening them, setting the magnification and saving again?

nope

You could run a Macro to operate on all .xls files in a directory. The Macro could potentially open each file in the directory, set the zoom to 125%, and then save it.

Why can't he just use a lower resolution for his display?
