We are converting from CR10 to CR2011. I have noticed that the input date parameter windows don't default to today's date. I tried to set the "Default Value" in the Edit Parameter window to CurrentDate or Today() but that didn't work. How do I indicate that I want it to default to today's date?

TIA!

What we do is set dates to a default value of 1/1/1957, which happens to be Day Zero in our mainframe system. Then use a formula field that uses CurrentDate when this value is encountered.

We use Crystal 2008, upgraded from Crystal 11.5. I found that the upgraded system threw away various default dates that we had carefully set. But it did also allow us to restore them.

Hi Madawc -

I am not following your suggestion. Or maybe my question wasn't clear.[sadeyes]

I am talking about the parameter window that pops up when you run a report when there are parameter fields. It use to be (in CR 10) that if it was a date field, the default was today and the user could just click ok if today is what they wanted. Now, you HAVE to click the calendar icon. I would just like to set the default to today.

So, going with your suggestion, I created a Formula Field called Parm_SDate and set it to CurrentDate. But I wasn't able to put it any place on the Edit Parameter screen for OrderDate.

I hope that makes more sense. Any suggestions anybody?

TIA!

The formula field checks the parameter and substitutes the current date for a blank. Then use the formula field result for processing.
