Does anyone know where I can set the default user/pass when logging in to VSS. It would be nice to have it automatically login with the specified user/pass. Currently, I have to retype my username and password everytime I open a project.

If you add Environment variables of SSUSER and SSPWD to your system that should do the job.

To do this in XP, Start/Control Panel/System. In there select Advanced Tab and select the Environment Variables. Click New then SSUSER/SSPWD and the required values for the user and password.

I think this works,

Hammy.

FYI, that appears to work for VSS Explorer, but not for the Visual Studio .NET (2002) IDE.

For example if you have windows user - "User1"
you have to
1. add "User1" to <visualsouresafe administrator > - easy
2. add password which is not important and could not be the same as windows password for "User1" but remember it - easier
3. then run the project which (project from source safe you added before)

source safe recognize windows username
simple isn't it
