Is it possible to set the Corporate LAN interface to auto sense for an active 8700 server without busying it out and failing over to the standby?
When configuring active server I am getting a notice: "This appears to be the ACTIVE server. Continuing the process busies out this server and the duplicated server becomes ACTIVE. This server will...".

Software Load: R013x.00.1.346.0
Memory Configuration: G3xV13
CM3.0

Depending on the type changes being made, servers may need reboot after a change of the server configuration.

By design, configuring the active server is not something that Avaya recommends. Can you busy the standby, configure it, reboot, then interchange into it? Then, make configuration changes on the other server.

Does changing the speed on the corporate LAN interface from 100MB full duplex to auto negotiate require a reboot of the server?
I would like to do that on both the standby and the active. Standby seems to be no problem, but I would like to avoid having to interchange servers to to that on the current active as well. Is there a way to change that setting on the active without interchanging?

You have got to ask why are these changes needed and what is the enviornment ?

As regards to not busying out and interchanging this is absoloutly the way do do any change of this nature , its design intent and by far the safest method , if you run into issues if you make changes on the live kit you could easily take doen the whole estate.

If you dont alraedy have it read this doc as its applicable to what you are doing , specifically after the change.

Also look at this one as it covers , interfaces.
