set a form field based on the "collect data from a user task in the wo

I am trying to set a field in the form based on what choice the user selects from a "collect data from a user task in the workflow"

The "set field to value" only gives me 3 columns to choose from but not the column I need.

I was thinking of using rules in the form and creating a data connection but having trouble on how to get the current form's current field values.

any ideas on how i can tackle this? thanks
