Session Manager 7 Installation 1

I have an installation question for Session Manager 7 When I install ASM 7, there is no configuration field for the SM100 IP Address when deploying the OVA from System Manager's SDM, also not using OOBM. The "Deploying Session Manager" doc says to pre-configure the SIP Entity and the Session Manager in SMGR, so I am assuming that the install of the OVA will pickup up the IP of the Entity of the secmod, but it does not. I have tried multiple times and still unable to define the IP Address of the SM100.

Any help is appreciated.

OK, I figured it out. I didn't have the defined DNS servers on the network, so I manually modified the /etc/hosts file on the SMGR server, and the SM came up and all tests pass.

SO, the trick is to pre-configure the Session Manager SIP Entity and the Session Manager itself within SMGR, and make sure your DNS servers are available or if not, make sure you have an entry in the /etc/hosts file on the SMGR for the SM. Then install the OVA file from SDM. No need to run SMnetSetup or smconfig on the SM, all parameters are entered when installing the OVA.

I have installed SMGR/SM 7.0 number of times but there's no such thing as pre-configured one SM security module. You have to add the SIP entity manually, Session Manager Instance, and the Enrollment password.
