Servlets-update html doc

Hello,

I am new to java programming. I have set up the JDK and would like to implement a few scripts to get my feet wet.

I am looking for a simple servlet code that will allow the user to add to a list on an html page.

Can anyone point me to a web site or book that has scripts?
