some of the engines (eg. database) and some of the services on the program stops for no reason. I had to restart the services for it to work.

pls help..
 
Has this only just started happening? Is this a new install? Are there any errors in the system or application event logs, perhaps some relating to ca_lic?

What ARCserve version and patch level are you at, and what OS are you running it on.

Running 11.5 version and also having problems with database engine. I'v had this same problem after updating SP1 and just installed SP2. Actually I suspect that this problem occurs if you have corrupt database. Don't ask me what causes the database corruption :( Had it several times ! I'd prefer to use some other DB than this VLDB which comes with ArcServe but .... we are trying to survive with the CA supported setup.

Database corruption has occured 4 times now and before the latest corruption we run dbcheck, dbfix, dbdefrag and keybuild scheduled every week. First we kill all BrightStorMgr.exe sessions and make sure that no jobs are running then we start script that checks database. That procedure did not save us.

Earlier I suspected the Disk Staging option to cause the problem with database but ....
