Hi all

I have a server where a number of different and unrelated services are not starting even though they are set to be started automatically. If I reboot then some of the services might start and others wont!!

In the system log, I am getting 2 events for each service not working. The first message is Timeout(12000) milliseconds waiting for the <service name> service to connect and it is followed by The <service or device name> service failed to start due to the following error - The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Any advice will be very welcome.

I have had this happen to me when either a service stops responding (error 1053), or hasn't had enough time to start during startup (but starts after). It all depends on the affected service and its dependencies. Can you elaborate as to what services are failing?
