Service will not start 1

Does anyone know what caused

error 1067

whenever I try to start the service. It just stopped working. We had not touched the db in a while being that is in development. Today I added some tables and data but had problems viewing user permissions so I turned the service off but it will not come back on.

error 1067 is a bit vague, whats the full output of the error message ?
have you looked in the log t see what that says ?

what "service" is this ? mysql mssql pqsql etc etc

what is the O/S

version numbers will help possibly too. ______________________________________________________________________

error 1067 is ER_INVALID_DEFAULT
looks like some of your mysql variables has invalid value
which should be mentioned in the error string ;-)
check your my.cnf and repair it

sorry that was VERY vague. Don't know what I thinking.

Appears the my.cnf file has gone walk about. Not sure what happened. I was going to do a restore this morning anyway. It is a development box so no big deal. But I will have to track down who was messing with it.
