Service w3svc failed during installation

Service W3svc failed to start during the installation. Logged in as Administrator. Any thoughts whats going on. Running 2003 server with IIS6.0 installing SUS with service pack 1.

I am experiancing the same problem -- I have to say tho -- when I had this service on w2k i never had this problem.

Just installed SUS 1.0 on a Win2k3 box with not problems at all, unlike when it was on 2k. I suggest dumping your W3 install, reboot, reinstall. I did not apply the IIS Lockdown or URL scanner, if it even exists for IIS6.0.
