What would be the best way to enter in a variable time frame that represents you waiting for a customer to respond. For example, I'm waiting for a customer to give me their parameters for a database solution.

Currently, I have it in as another task, but I just realized that's not a good idea, because then it expects resources to be allocated to it.

I'm relatively new to Project, but I can already tell that it's going to save me A LOT of time.

Thanks,

Let me ask the question then, why do you need a variable time frame?. The hours columns in project is baselined as an estimate. Actuals beyond that are still tracked, and you can use the tracking Gantt to see how tasks shift over time. Try this... since the wait time isn't really a task, link the two tasks that are dependent-linked by that wait time. Then on the precedent task, add in the lag time under that column under the predecessors tab in the task dialogue box.

Thanks, I'll do it that way.

I can't wait until there is a project, document, and contact management program that is all-in-one and editable via the web.

Someday....

Thanks again.
