In NT4 there is a warning to re-install the latest SP whenever you update a component. Does that same procedure exist in W2k?

Mr. Pib

Actually Service Packs in Windows 2000 create a directory named %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles where it stores all the updated files from the service pack. If components are added windows will use these files to update so the Service Pack level remains current. So in windows 2000 reapplying of service packs is not necessary after updating components. However I beleive you still must reapply any hotfixes you have applied.
