Hello,

I was recently informed that when installing a Service Pack to SQL Server 2000, you need to install this service pack on all workstations that have the client connectivity installed, not just the actual Server !

I have never done this before, is this true ?

Your feedback is appreciated.

Regards,

Antoinette

According to the Introduction in the SP3 ReadMe file:

SP3 provides updates to the:
database engine,
database client tools and utililities such as Enterprise Manager and the osql utility
database client connectivity components

So, if you want to have the latest update to the client tools and client connectivity, then yes you need to apply it on the client side.
