I upgraded to service pack 3 on SQL Server 2000 a few days ago. The installer returned a success message when it was completed. However, when i check the version, it is still showing as SP2.
I checked it by typing the following into SQL Analyser
select @@version
The following is returned:
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.534 (Intel X86) Nov 19 2001 13:23:50 Copyright (c) 1988-2000 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 3)
The 8.00.534 part means that it is at SP2, right?
Also, when i right click on the server name in Enterprise Manager and click properties, it show that SP2 is installed.
Did you reboot after applying the service pack? If not, give that a try. Even though per the directions you shouldn't have had to reboot, sometimes you just have to do it.
If that doesn't solve it, try to apply the Service Pack again. Maybe something didn't fully install.
