Has anyone seen this? I downloaded and installed service pack 3 for AS 2000. The install autodetected that it needed to update AS 2000 and the tape library option. Upon completion it "disabled" all the AS NT services and you can not change or start the services. When I re-booted, the services dissapear from the 2000 service manager.

I'm experiencing the same problem. After spending several hours with ca's tech support in India, they are telling me to contact Dell. Windows 2k is not recognizing our dds drive (made by Sony) with Dell's name on it. (Dell Powervault 120T). Our server is a Dell PowerEdge 1400. The tape backup device has been running fine, until I put on sp3 of Arcserve2000. CA said the sp3 install must have failed (with no indication) and the only way to fix the problem is to remove Arcserve and then re-install it. Once I did that, it doesn't recognize the tape library. I have yet to resolve this.

OK, had some similar problems to this, and the heres how I fixed it. When your installing the drivers for your backup hardware (i've got a DELL server with a DELL Powervault 360T) don't use the drivers that come with the installation cd's, use the microsoft generic backup changer driver. This worked like a charm.....hope it helps :)
