have mics 6.1 with PRI. brought off ebay with no PRI enabler codes so did not default. have one port 121 that no matter what station number i change it to the display shows SERVICE ON. have used all cancel code and they show nothing on and since i can change the port to any dn i want, i do not find it in any services menu. any ideas.
thanks

The "Services ON" message means that there is a service active in your system. It can be a Ringing service, a Restriction service, a Routing service or a combination of the previous services.

If your set happens to have a two-line display, you can press the LIST softkey to view the service (or services) currently active. If your set only has a one-line display, you can press Feature 870 to view the service (or services) currently active.

The "Services ON" message appears on the display of all the control sets. By default, 221 is the only control set, but there can be more than one control set. A control set can turn on and off the services it controls using a feature code:
[ul]
[li]Feature 871: Turns on a Ringing service[/li]
[li]Feature #871: Turns off a Ringing service[/li]
[/ul]
[ul]
[li]Feature 872: Turns on a Restriction service[/li]
[li]Feature #872: Turns off a Restriction service[/li]
[/ul]
[ul]
[li]Feature 873: Turns on a Routing service[/li]
[li]Feature #873: Turns off a Routing service[/li]
[/ul]

If you don't need them, services can be disabled in programming:

Services > Ringing Service > [Schedule] > Service: Off
Services > Restriction Service > [Schedule] > Service: Off
Services > Routing Service > [Schedule] > Service: Off

I read your post again and I realize that I might not have answered your all of your questions. Let me try again.

The set connected to port 121 shows "Services ON" because it is a control set and a service is active in the system. You won't get rid of the "Services ON" message simply by changing DNs.

Let's say you change the DN of a control set from 241 to 541. The system updates its programming accordingly: everywhere DN 241 was entered, it is changed to DN 541.

On one hand:
[ol 1]
[li]DN 241 was a control set.[/li]
[li]DN 241 changed to DN 541.[/li]
[li]DN 541 is now a control set.[/li]
[/ol]

On the other hand:
[ol 1]
[li]A service was active.[/li]
[li]DN 241 changed to DN 541.[/li]
[li]A service is still active.[/li]
[/ol]

There can be a different control set for each line and there can be a different control set for each set. That can be a lot a control sets… Yet, as soon as there is one service active in the system, all the control sets show the "Services ON" message on their display.

If you enter a feature code to turn a service off at a control set and the display shows that there is no active service, it means that that set doesn't control that service.

There are a few things that CHANGE DN do not move with DN swap.

Control Sets and DN Name are a couple that come to mind. As multi stated that is why SERVICES ON stays with the port not the DN.
