I have a customer with a Legend 6.0, but would like to use the service Observing feature. The Phones to be doing the observing are MLX phones. I know they have to have a legend 6.1 or better, I'm just wondering the cheapest/easiest way to do it. I can't think of a reason to take them all the way to a 7.0 other than them having a new processor.
Basically my question is if there is any reason not to just do a firmware upgrade?

I would do a firmware upgrade to Legend R7.0, V14.2 - the latest version. Even if they only have a CKE3 processor - that software version will work just fine - unless they try to add 16-port MLX modules. If they have a CKE4 processor - and do not use any of the older analog modules for BIS-style phones, I would consider upgrading the processor to Magix R4.0 software - which is newer than Legend R7 and offers some advantages - like simultaneous display of Caller Name and Phone#.

They dont have any biz sets, just mlx and single line. If I upgrade them to a 7.0 will I have to convert their translation? Are there any problems doing that?

You can convert the translations in WinSPM to R7 or Magix R4.
