On a BCM 50 we had the control set for fallback routing service set to DN 3500, port 401. We changed the control set to DN 3515. The service is set to AUTO. While the service is on, both sets say "Service Modes On". Why is the set on Port 401 showing Service Modes On?

the set at 401 must still be a control set for other lines or sets

you will need to go and change all sets and line to the new control set

it may be better to put it back to the set at 401 and then change the dn number of port 401
and then change the jumper to the correct jack/phone set

Thanks Fireeater! I actually posted this for a tech in the field and I will relay your advice to him.

Is there a way to hide the "Service Modes On" when it used for Fallback Routing short of putting a phone in the switchroom for it to display on?
