Service Manager Fails

Good afternoon,

When attempting to connect to a server via the Service Manager, I get the standard error message (Error communicating with the specified SMS Server). When attempting to check the security via WBEMTEST, I get a provider failure error. Inspection of the WBEM logs shows the SMS Component Manager Provider fails to initialize.

Any thoughts?

Hey,
What WBEM logs did you inspect? Have you recently shut off the site server suddenly?

I inspected the only log that updated each time I attempted the call (WBEMCORE.LOG) and that is where it said that the provider failed to initialize. The site was recently rebuilt and restored from backup. (W2K/SQL7/SMS2SP5 all installed and then the data restored).
