service logon credentials problem

I have a service on a windows 2003 server with a login and password with admin rights. When I stop & start the service, I get the: "service did not start due to logon failure" error. I have NOT changed the password, nor does it expire. If we go into the settings and enter the exact same password it suddenly works again. Does anyone know a resolution to this?

What service is it? Are you using a local account or Domain Account?

Try it with a local admin account and see what happens.
