hey anonymous!
would you help me ?
I want to know how can we make service through the appwizard of atl, you said it is the easiest way to make a service.
I have worked in atl only to the extent of dll and exe, but a service never...i tried it once , with service type project, compiled it run it...but could'nt see any service running (nor in task manger window neither in scm) ...what necessary code and settings (both in system and service project of atl wizard) i have to make.
I want to my ActiveX exe (made in Visual basic 6.0) to run as service, and i want to use ATL Wizard.I don't want to sneak into the registry....i hope you got my requirements...and understood how rookie i am in service scene...
Please help me ...with all the details.

thanks in advance

cheers
Jayant

I don't have any specific suggestions, but if anyone wants to learn more about services and how to create them using the Win32 API of C++, here are a couple of links to articles in the MSDN library:

Services (overview) -
Design a Windows NT Service to Exploit Special Operating System Facilities (MSJ) -
Manipulate Windows NT Services by Writing a Service Control Program (MSJ) -
