Service failed to start due to a logon failure

Hi,

I have an EMC NAS. I also have two Windows 2003 servers which run Sophos AntiVirus.

A program which runs as a service called CAVA sits on the two 2003 servers and forwards files from the NAS to SOPHOS to scan.

Every now and again, the CAVA service stops and cannot restart unless I reenter the password.

The CAVA service is configured to run as a Domain Account (Not as a local service) but the Domain Account is added to the "Allow to run as a local service" in the local security policy.

There is no problem with the Domain Controller, the password has not changed or expired.

The service shuts down when Sophos gets updated, and then it should restart.

However, sometimes it just says "Service failed to start due to a logon failure". I just reenter the password as it was before and can start the service fine again.

Has any one seen this behaviour before and more importantly - do you know how to fix it?!?

Thanks in advance!
