Hello

I am trying to capture a number of ServerVariables. Certain of these (such as USER_AGENT, HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE, REMOTE_ADDR) are always populated. But LOGON_USER and HTTP_REFERER are not populated consistently (ie often left blank).

However if I hit Refresh two or three times (not necessarily just once), I almost always then get results.

Other users on the intranet have had a similar experience.

Why should there be different behaviour from the different ServerVariables? What does Refresh do in this situation?

I have a hunch about the cause, but I'd appreciate a second opinion before approaching the IS dept. (This is not their forte!)

I'll bet you're running into to this when there are 2 or more sessions of IE open. We've run into something very similar with cookies. If a 2nd session is opened by using the icon instead of file/new/window, it appears session variables and cookies overwrite themselves or something. Does this match your case? I've posted for a work around in other forums and had no responses. Any one?

Hi Hithere

I'm pretty certain this has happened for me with just one session running. I'll check with colleagues however. Thanks for the good news!!!
