Hi, I am new to this whole host your own website and stuff but i was wondering how you would get a domain to point to your server, how you would setup a server, how much it would cost and if you could have ASP and PHP on your server at the same time...

first you have to register for a domain name:

ie.

http://www.yourname.com

usually it cost ranging from 20-75 depending on the ISP

then if you want to host your own web server, you have to consider how much you want to spend on the connection, it all depend on how fast of the link you want your user to connect
