Servers inaccessible

I have around 40 servers (Win2k SP3) and have loaded CIM 6.0 and 6.1 management agents on them. Most are visible and working fine within CIM 5.2 management console but 7 of them are inaccessible. I have checked the community strings and SNMP settings which are fine. I have also made sure all the agent services are started.
I have restarted SNMP service (which also restarts agents) and tried a couple of reboots to no avail. I have checked firewall settings and nothing is being blocked.
My next move was going to be the uninstall/re-install of the agents but I really want to avoid this if possible as the downtime would negatively affect my service targets. I have probed the SNMP with the 'GetIf' utility and am receiving SNMP data back from the affected machines.
Does anyone have anything else I can try ?

Will.

Nope.

My experience has been that some times CIM agents stop working - "server not accessable" after patches and hot fixes are added to a server.

The fix is to reinstall the agent. Running version control is a pretty good idea too.

You could install the new agent and not reboot until the next planned maintenance date.
