I need an affordable solution to my server OS. We have server accross the country which I need to create an image to an external drive in case of system failure. I would like to be able to replace the hardware and copy the creaated image to the new server with minimal downtime.I am currently using a manual system which requires hands-on and this is not working for me. Any advice?

You could use SCVMM to convert from physical to virtual and replicate the OS, this would strip the SIDs of the system back you would have a perfect replica.

Or use Acronis Image Server. Acronis products works like a dream.
