Hi
I'm a teacher, the school is under windows server 2003.
The PC in the teacher's room refuse the acces to yahoo and gmail but work normally to browse the web.
The message in the browser is :

    *   The website may be temporary unavailable or overload. Try later.
    *   If you can't browse any website check your network connection ;
    *   If your computer or your network is protected by a firewall or a proxy, make sure that Firefox is allowed to access the Web.

I tried with a Linux live cd on this computer and it's the same, I tried with my own laptop, the same again.
There's a lot of other computers in different classes where yahoo and gmail are available.

I took a quick look on the server and didn't find anything (I'm a big newbe for server) I only know the name of the computer on my network, I did search for special rules for this client but didn't find anything. . Still I have access to the server so I can try what someone could suggest.

Thanks for help.

Ps: I cant contact my network admin, he have 150 schools to admin, we're lucky if we see him once a year.

It is most likely blocked either at the DNS level or some kind of web filter out of your control.

Try runnning nslookup and resolving the websites you are trying to connect to.
