Hi,

ML370 HP win2000 Server has a RAID 5 controller.
My question is if the mother-board of this server became faulty; Is it possible to install the RAID 5 controller with the 3 H.D's in other server and have the system back on line. Is there any sepcial conf. needed?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

We have a number of Compaq Servers and have had to swap to another machine in the case of Hardware failure. You should be fine just to take the 3 drives, the drives know they are part of an array. Just number them first so that you put them back into your replacement server. Optionally you make also take the controller if its needed.

Regards

David
