Hi there,

I have just re-installed RH7.3 on a server (RAID1) and after the install completed the server freezes at reboot at the point: "GRUB Loading stage2..." The boot loader was loaded into the MBR during install. I can boot the server using the floppy boot disk I created during the build. How do I repair the MBR?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Boot from the Red Hat CD and select Recovery mode. Mount the root filesystem and then run "grub-install" to reinstall the bootloader into the MBR.

Tried that but it still produced the same fault. Believe it or not an old DOS boot disk and the "fdisk /mbr" command cleared the fault!

Thanks for replying anyway.

Cheers,
