Going from 5.0.4 to 5.0.7; allowed upgrade vs fresh install on initial and completed the installation w/no errors. On reboot received following messages: not a directory; boot not found; cannot open; Stage one boot failure: error loading hd (40)/boot.

Now, when booting from SCO CD get message for fresh install only.

All help appreciated.

Additional info: Before upgrade I replaced the Adaptec 2940U with a 39160. I loaded the ad160 drivers per SCO/Adaptec instructions, then did the upgrade.

To make sure that the correct disk geometry is used to install
the system, follow these steps:

1. In the system CMOS, disable all DOS features (for example,
bios-shadowing) and any caching.

2. At the Boot: prompt, enter the correct geometry for the hard
drive, as in this example from an actual install with a 4GB
IDE drive:

Boot: biosgeom=(8930, 15, 63)

3. Use the "interactive fdisk/divvy" method to install the operating
system. Confirm the reported disk statistics and correct them
if necessary. In the above example, the number of cylinders was
found to be off by one, and changing it from 8931 to 8930
enabled a successful installation.
