My Windows 2000 Server is a DC and DHCP for the network. I have a problem where the server is leasing IPs from himself. What gives? The server is the only DHCP on the network. I have a static IP address for the server. I am also running the RAS for VPN connection. The server is an IBM Netfinity 3500 with only the onboard NIC. The other PCs have no problem getting their IPs from the server. Regards,

It's because you are running RAS, and have it setup to obtain an ip address from the DHCP server. Basically it will create a lease for every VPN (PPTP or L2TP) port.

If you don't want it to use DHCP you can specify an addres pool for your RAS clients in the RRAS MMC
