I am working in cr xi trying to write and modify reports for an iappraise system.
(I don't imagine that too many of you out there use iappraise - but if anyone does, that would be fantastic - but it's an audit database which we use for scheduling audits and creating and updating audit checklists. the audits are food safety audits of manufacturing and processing and food product suppliers etc. Enough said.)

at times, when I develop or modify a report in my desktop development environment and upload it to the iappraise system, a report that works in my environment gives me an error in the production environment. I've been told that the server version is also crxi but I don't have a development environment on the server - or at least I don't know how to access it - so I can't tell where it's failing in production.

Does anyone know if there would be a difference between the crxi environment on the server and the development version on my pc?

any help would be appreciated, I'm stumped.

thanks

There should be no difference.
I use CRXI on my laptop as well as on a windows2008 server and they are identical as far as i can tell.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Thanks fisheromacse and hilfy. I have reposted the question in the Crystal Reports Other section as you suggested hilfy.

Thanks
