I have a linux firewall acting as a mail server as well. It connects to our ISP via one NIC, and our network via another. I have configured DNS, I believe correctly, as nsloolup works on our server, and well as a SCO UNIX machine, also on our network. The linux box acts as our name server, and the SCOUNIX points to it using the resolver. The PCs on our network use outlook express.
I can send recieve mail from all of the PCs. I can send mail from the SCOUNIX box to the linux box. I cannot send mail from the linux box to the SCOUNIX box, or via the internet to the SCOUNIX box. When I run sendmail in verbose mode I get a host lookup failure. It seems to be looking for a nameserver on the SCOUNIX box ???

Any thoughts ?? [sig][/sig]

Sendmail will be querying your DNS servers for the IP address of the SCO box. If the server doesn't have an entry, an IP address will not be returned, and sendmail will not deliver the mail. The same is true for inbound mail from the internet to the SCO box.
