hi i am trying to view the following page:


when i goto the page i get a permission denied page. i have the follwing in my httpd config

<Location /server-status>
SetHandler server-status
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from </Location>

any ideas?

I see a couple things here. First you have "Order deny, allow". This tells apache to set allow as default state. Then evaluate deny then allow. What happens is it sets the default state to allow. Then it evaluates deny which is all so now it has to pull a John Kerry (sorry). Now that it's denying everybody except It may be having a problem with the " If you are accessing it from the local machine, you my try localhost instead. If you are trying to access it from the outside world, then the referer would just be the ip of the machine that is being used to access this page unless it is coming from a link. In that case it would be the ip or the domain where the link was. If you want to limit this page to just a few users and the referer could be different all the time, You may want to use .htaccess instead.
