We are running Netware 6.5. About every two weeks we have to down the server as it gets so slow as to be unusable. I've checked in the health monitor and all the lights are green. What can I do to diagnose the problem and fix it? This is a very open-ended question I know but any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Version reports revision 03. Am I looking in the right place for the SP info?

On my SP4b server, Version reports:
Code:
SP Revision 04
Server Version 5.70.04 August 15, 2005
Novell eDirectory Version 8.7.3.7 SMP
NDS Version 10552.79 August 9, 2005
I'd say you're on SP3x. Lots of memory problems fixed in SP4, and an NSS patch in 4b.

Green lights don't tell you a whole lot. I'm guessing you're having a mem leak. Look in your SYS:SYSTEM\SYS$LOG.ERR file and see if you see anything that talkes about memory.

Didn't see anything regarding memory in the error log. Have downloaded sp4a but haven't installed it. Checked memory fragmentation as recommended in the link sent by sstoppel. Will have to watch over the course of days to see how that goes.

Thanks for all the suggestions/help.

SP4a+b has seemingly cured my fragmentation problems. And no, those problems never logged a thing, but you could watch NSS.nlm and Server.nlm eat more memory daily in Remote Manager.
