I've built a client side Outlook application that interactions with Ms-Exchange 2003. The application is pretty straight foward, allows you to drag and drop items from your inbox into a "fictitious" folder that then catalogues and transfers to a 3rd party application. It's built in VBA etc..
So we've been having performance issues where the user has to download a large e-mail with attachment from the server to their inbox, then drag it to this drop folder.. the script has to pull download the e-mail to the local desktop, then it fires a script which copies the e-mail from the desktop to a 3rd party app. - it takes way too long at times.
So I've been asking around on how to fix the problem, and a friend of mine mentioned that you should be able to script this function server to server.
Ms-Exchange server side folder, that when you drop an e-mail into it, it fires a script which sends the e-mail to a different server.
Not sure if this is possible; and I have limited web services experience.
Would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction or just telling me to forget it lol.
Thanks,
L
