I am taking over an Access 2000 database located on our server that uses several Access Forms as the front end.
The forms updates and adds records in the database.

I was wondering what is the advantage of using Cold Fusion MX front end over the current Access Form front end on this database?

The advantage would be the CF based forms can be accessed from any browser with an internet connection to make/update changes. The changes would be saved to a centralized dB which would reflect changes no matter how many users added/updated records from anywhere.

The access forms would require the user to have the access file on their local PC to make the changes. And, if you have several users making changes then they would all need to work off the same access file to ensure database integrity.

Well, almost. You can have multiple users working on a single Access db but each user must have the Access frontend on their computer.

The advantages to using CF over straight access are too many to count.
